Domino’s Celebrates and Raises Awareness about Employee Resource Groups at Summer Block Party
On Aug. 3, team members at Domino’s corporate headquarters in Ann Arbor, Michigan had the opportunity to celebrate the summer season with an Employee Resource Group Block Party hosted by the company’s five ERGs:
- WiSDOM (women’s ERG at Domino's)
- BLISS (Black Leaders Innovating, Strategizing and Succeeding)
- LatiDo (Latins at Domino’s)
- True Colors (LGBTQIA+, representing all colors)
- SOAR (Seeking Opportunities Above Resistance)
Team members from Domino’s World Resource Center were invited to attend the event to learn more about the company’s ERGs. Despite the hot weather, the outdoor event was flooded with attendees who enjoyed a picnic lunch, lawn games, live music and puppies from Leader Dogs for the Blind. The attendees were also entered into a raffle drawing for prizes.
While the event itself was certainly fun, it also opened the door to many more people being able to experience all the benefits that Domino’s ERGs have to offer. We asked Domino’s team members what they’ve learned since joining an ERG, and here were some of their responses:
- "I think that ERG participation has been a big part of my growth at Domino's and given me a chance to not only practice but to demonstrate the skills I can bring to future roles." - Hannah Wilder, WiSDOM
- "[I've learned] leadership skills, presentation skills, managing a team, the inner workings of executive leadership strategy sessions, balancing a volunteer position while working my day job (and life)." - Elizabeth Bairactaris, WiSDOM
- "I've learned that 'you don't know what you don't know.' Every meeting, event, learning session etc. that I've attended with the ERGs that I'm a part of or an ERG event that I'm not a part of, I've learned something for either my professional or personal life." - Candice Briggs, BLISS and WiSDOM
- “The ERGs highlight the value of diversity and help educate. They make us see that our differences really aren't that different.” - Susan Trevillian, SOAR
