Domino’s Delivery Driver Featured in Netflix’s “Queer Eye” Season 9
Netflix’s hit series “Queer Eye” is known for its emotionally-charged makeovers and heartfelt moments, and Season 9 is no exception – especially the second episode. Nicole Owens, a 53-year-old mom of three, is featured in the episode, in which her role as a part-time Domino’s delivery driver at a Las Vegas corporate store is highlighted.
In the episode, Nicole makes a pizza delivery, not knowing it’s to the “Fab Five” – food and wine specialist Antoni Porowski, interior designer Jeremiah Brent, grooming consultant Jonathan Van Ness, fashion designer Tan France, and culture expert Karamo Brown. When Nicole arrives and delivers the pizzas, she’s surprised by the five stars of the show, who spend the remainder of the week giving her a whole life makeover in their respective areas. Nicole’s kids nominated her to be on the series in an effort for her to heal from a challenging past, find inner peace and become the person she was meant to be.
“I was truly surprised,” Nicole said. “I had no idea the Fab Five would be there, at the delivery. It was so exciting – I could hardly speak.”
Nicole started working as a Domino’s driver in February 2024 to supplement her income. She enjoys the flexible work schedule, as it doesn’t interfere with her full-time job as a notary.
“I like the happiness I bring to our customers when their pizza arrives,” she said. “I look forward to my shifts and working with my coworkers and managers.”
Being featured on “Queer Eye” was a life-changing experience for Nicole.
“It was incredible to be surrounded and supported by such a wonderful cast and crew,” she said. “The whole experience changed the trajectory of my life. It encouraged me to not be afraid to try new things –
to not lose hope. It's never too late to change our situations.”
Nicole said the Fab Five and the experience overall gave her self-confidence and a newfound zest for life. She offered this piece of advice for others who are facing any kind of challenge:
“The one thing I would encourage others to do, is do it scared,” Nicole said. “Don't let fear stop you. On the other side of fear is opportunity.”
