Domino's and Saturdays Football Celebrate Community During a Summer of Soccer

Pizza and soccer may not seem like an obvious pairing, but both have a way of bringing people together. That's what made Domino's and Saturdays Football a natural fit this summer as the two brands teamed up for Pickup for Pickup, a community-focused event series celebrating connection through the game.
Throughout June and July, the series stopped in Austin, Texas; New York; San Diego; and Gardena, California, welcoming players and fans of all ages for free pickup soccer games, music, Domino's pizza and exclusive co-branded merchandise. As enthusiasm for soccer continued to grow throughout the summer, the events provided an opportunity for local communities to compete and connect both on and off the field.
While Pickup for Pickup marked a unique collaboration for Domino's, the idea behind it was simple. Both brands recognize that some of life's best moments happen when people gather together. The series brought that shared belief to life by creating welcoming spaces where neighbors, friends and soccer fans could meet new people and enjoy a memorable experience together.
Select attendees received limited-edition Pickup for Pickup merchandise, including co-branded jerseys, hats, soccer balls, slides and a $10 Domino's gift card, a nod to one of soccer's most iconic jersey numbers.
"Whether it was longtime friends joining a match or new faces meeting on the field for the first time, the events reflected the sense of community that both Saturdays Football and Domino's value," said Jenny Fouracre-Petko, Domino's spokesperson. "We were proud to be part of moments that extended beyond the game itself."
As the series wrapped up, Pickup for Pickup demonstrated how two brands with a shared passion for community could create memorable moments throughout the summer. Some of the best experiences begin when people come together to share something they love.
