Domino’s Awards Scholarships to FFA Students Across the Country
Domino’s has been a proud supporter of the National Future Farmers of America organization since 2017, and has awarded over 100 collegiate scholarships to FFA students since the partnership began. Through these scholarships, Domino’s aims to feed the power of possible, one future farmer at a time. This year, 20 students across the U.S. earned Domino’s sponsored scholarships for the fall 2024 semester.
Two of this year’s scholarship recipients, Elizabeth Sattler and Ricardo Guzman, have goals to become agricultural education teachers. Ricardo, an incoming freshman at University of California, Davis, plans to earn his master’s in agricultural education. He dreams of becoming an FFA advisor to give future students the same amazing experience he had through the organization.
Elizabeth, a sophomore at South Dakota State University, is pursuing a degree in agricultural leadership, education and communications. She is focusing on education for her career path and hopes to become a teacher at the high school or middle school level.
“My goal is to one day find a way to give back to the organization that shaped me in high school, and that introduced me to endless career paths and opportunities,” said Elizabeth. “This scholarship is a huge help in my pursuit of higher education and my dream of becoming a teacher that will educate the next generation about the many opportunities in agriculture.”
In Kentucky, Reece McPherson will attend Murray State University to study occupational safety and health, to one day be able to advocate for safe labor conditions in the agriculture industry. During his time in FFA, Reece received the Award of Excellence for his leadership and was selected as Chapter Star Farmer for the management of his supervised agriculture experience project.
Karen Castillo aspires to open her own veterinary practice in a rural community and after earning her degree through Texas A&M University-Commerce. At her future practice, she hopes to create hands-on learning opportunities for local FFA students, to give back to the organization that inspired her so much.
“To many, scholarships are just a simple form of economic support for college,” said Karen. “To me, it means the advancement of my education, and represents the countless opportunities and possibilities it opens for my future.”
