Domino’s Delivers Memories to Former St. Jude Patient at Hometown Store
In March of 2025, Domino’s team members welcomed Beckett Fowler, a five-year-old former St. Jude patient, and his family for an immersive day spent exploring the inner workings of a Domino’s store in Shelby Township, Michigan. Outfitted in his own Domino’s visor and apron, Beckett toured the store, prepared delicious pizza and checked out a Domino’s electric delivery vehicle.
George Fakhouri, Domino’s senior manager of corporate operations in metro Detroit, taught Beckett and his siblings the ins and outs of running a Domino’s store — as well as the art of pizza-making. From stretching dough to saucing, topping and boxing up his pizza, Beckett did it all. His toppings of choice? Pepperoni, sausage, black olives and Domino’s cheddar cheese blend, which he deemed the “Beckett Special.”
“We’re so grateful to the Domino’s team in Shelby Township for giving our family an unforgettable pizza experience,” said Tammie Fowler, Beckett’s mom. “From start to finish, it was truly amazing. This was more than just pizza — it was laughter, joy, and memories that we will cherish forever.”
Domino’s team members met Beckett and his family at a fundraiser for St. Jude in Detroit. After hearing Beckett’s story, the team was eager to invite him to visit a store.
"Being able to host Beckett and his family was a great experience. It helps drive the bigger picture for what we’re doing here," said Jessy Cortez, Domino’s general manager in Shelby Township. "We're not just making pizzas; we're creating memories families can cherish. It's really eye-opening to see how much of a difference we can make in people’s lives here at Domino’s, one pizza at a time."
The support that St. Jude and its partners provided to the Fowler family inspired them to give back by opening their own foundation, Wreck-it Like Beckett. Wreck-it Like Beckett provides care packages for families who have a child fighting cancer. Their “Beckett Boxes” include children’s books, wellness items and recipes to support families throughout a child’s treatment.
“Wreck-It Like Beckett was created in honor of our son as a way to give back to families walking the same difficult road we once did,” said Tammie. “After Beckett was diagnosed with ATRT brain cancer, our world was turned upside down. Through the foundation, we’ve been able to bring comfort and support to others by sending out ‘Beckett Boxes’ filled with hope, wellness tools and love. It’s been incredibly healing for our family to turn pain into purpose—and to make Beckett’s journey a legacy of strength, resilience and kindness that he can carry forward as he grows.”
