Delivering a Difference: Local Domino’s Franchisees Step Up to Fight Hunger

Across the country, Domino’s franchisees are finding meaningful ways to support their communities – one pizza at a time. As food insecurity continues to affect families nationwide, Domino’s franchise store teams are stepping up to make sure that no neighbor goes without a meal. Through donations, local partnerships and in-store initiatives, these franchisees are showing that pizza can be a powerful way to bring people together.

A Slice of Support in State College

In State College, Pennsylvania, franchisee Jasmine Freeland and her team at Domino’s, located at 540 Westerly Parkway, are offering a free large one-topping pizza for carryout to anyone currently using a food assistance card. Freeland’s store wanted to make a tangible impact for local families who could use a helping hand.

“We know times can be tough for many of our neighbors,” Freeland said. “If a pizza can make someone’s day a little brighter or take away the stress of one meal, then we’re doing something right.”

Feeding Food Banks in California

On the West Coast, Hovig Ayvazian and his teams in Big Bear Lake, Elk Grove, Sacramento and Carmichael, California, are donating free pizzas daily to local food banks. By providing ready-to-eat meals, Ayvazian’s stores are helping ensure that those who rely on these organizations have consistent access to food.

“When we deliver pizzas to the food banks, we see how much of an impact it makes,” Ayvazian said. “It’s not just about feeding people – it’s about showing that our community stands with them.”

This ongoing effort has strengthened relationships with local nonprofits while bringing his team closer together.

“Our team members are proud to be part of something bigger than ourselves,” he said. “It’s about being there for others.”

Dinner on Us for Families in Need

Meanwhile, Dan Brumleve and his team hosted a special “Dinner on Us” event across 10 Domino’s locations in Alameda, Antioch, Martinez Oakley, Pleasant Hill, Concord and Walnut Creek, California, from Nov. 3-5. During these days, families in need were invited to enjoy a free meal – no questions asked.

Brumleve says the idea came from wanting to create moments of comfort for families facing hardship.

“We know that sharing a meal brings people together,” he explained. “For us, it’s about more than pizza – it’s about community.”

Through this, Brumleve’s team was able to donate over 1,600 pizzas, truly feeding the power of possible.

Delivering More Than Pizza

Efforts like these highlight franchisees’, as well as Domino’s, ongoing commitment to hunger relief. Addressing hunger doesn’t just fill stomachs – it supports well-being, strengthens communities and provides a sense of belonging.

Across the country, Domino’s stores have a unique ability to respond quickly in times of need. Whether it’s during local challenges or larger crises, franchisees and their team members consistently show up with care and compassion – delivering not only food, but hope.

That same spirit of generosity extends throughout the Domino’s brand. As a company, Domino’s is making a $250,000 commitment to nonprofit organizations in the communities surrounding corporate-owned stores, supply chain centers and the brand’s World Resource Center. The funds will go to food banks, pantries and other feeding programs to help provide easy, affordable access to food. Domino’s World Resource Center is also hosting a nonperishable food drive in support of Food Gatherers – a local food bank and food rescue program in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

From State College to Big Bear Lake to Elk Grove, and across every town in between, Domino’s teams continue to live out one shared mission: to deliver a difference. Because at the end of the day, every pizza made and every meal shared represents something far greater – the simple act of caring for one another.
